Festive Roasted Turkey with Red Wine

Buckeye Blends Festive Roasted Turkey with Red Wine

Ingredients

  • 1 turkey (15 pounds)
  • 1 cup of Tuscan-Herb Blend
  • Salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • 2 cups of dry red wine (Shiraz, Merlot, Pinot Noir)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425 F.
  2. Set the turkey in a large roasting pan.
  3. Rub the turkey with half of Tuscan-Herb Blend and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Fold the wing tips under so that the turkey sits upright.
  5. Pour one cup of dry red wine into the roasting pan and roast for 30 minutes.
  6. Baste the turkey with the remaining Tuscan-Herb Blend and wine.
  7. Reduce heat to 350 F and roast the turkey for about one hour.
  8. Reduce the hat to 325 F, and roast for one hour or until the inner thigh registers 170 F.
