Buckeye Blends Herbed Beef-Pork Patties

  • 1 lb. ground beef meat
  • 1 lb. ground pork meat
  • 1 slice of bread soaked
  • 2 green onions finely chopped
  • 2 cups fresh kale, roughly chopped
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup of Basil California Extra Virgin Olive Oil, divided
  • 1 tsp fresh tarragon, finely chopped
  • 1 tspfresh cilantro finely chopped
  • 1 tsp fresh parsley finely chopped
  • salt and ground pepper to taste


  1. Add the ground beef, ground pork, bread, green onions, and kale to a large bowl.
  2. Season with salt and pepper and knead.
  3. Add the egg, four tablespoons of Basil California Extra Virgin Olive Oil, and all herbs.
  4. Knead with your hands until all ingredients are combined well.
  5. Heat the remaining oil in a large frying skillet over medium-high heat.
  6. Fry for about 6 minutes for medium-rare (internal temperature 135°F) and about 8 minutes per side for well-done burgers ((internal temperature 160°F).
